Rendert Jan de Waard, the owner and captain of the Quo Vadis, has paid special attention to ensure that this cozy, comfortably furnished, 24-passenger barge has the distinct feeling of home away from home. Having been put into service in 2006, the ever-popular Quo Vadis sails under Dutch flag and management and is a beloved ship for boat and bike tours.
All twelve of the Quo Vadis’ twin cabins (9 m² – 97 sq.ft.) have two single beds that can be set together to create a double as well as a private shower, basin, toilet, mini safe and hair dryer. Though the windows in the cabins cannot be opened for safety reasons, each cabin has individually adjustable air conditioning, central heating and a ventilation system.
A firm favourite among guests is the stunning, air conditioned open lounge with corner seats, TV, large windows, restaurant and small but well-stocked bar on the upper deck – there is even a piano and guitar for live music. And of course, what passenger barge would be complete without a sundeck where, on carefree summer evenings you can enjoy an aperitif whilst unwinding after a day spent cycling around the lush European countryside.
